New bright smile in the Constellation: Khun Oil

Laurence - Can you tell me a bit more about yourself?
Oil - “My full name is Pimnara Jaruwongwan but you can call me Oil. I’m 26 years old and I was born in Chiang Mai. I studied accounting at the faculty of business administration of the Chiang Mai University. I worked in Bangkok for Price Waterhouse Coopers for two years, as an assistant auditor. I’m the youngest in my family. My parents are farmers who grow mainly rice and also longan, a delicious fruit from Thailand.

I like sport mainly swimming and taikuando. I listen to pop music because it is easy to sing along. I like making sand paper.

Laurence – Why did you want to work for the Constellation?
Oil – I wanted to do an MBA and work at the same time. So, I was looking for a job where I don’t have to work in the weekends. I’m interested to help other people and I want to improve my English. I like the Constellation because there is so much contact with different people, cultures and countries.

Laurence – Do you see any difference between the Constellation and the accounting firm where you worked before?
Oil – The atmosphere is relaxed. I have more freedom to work independently. I can share opinion. I have good team members.

Laurence – Do you work with communities?
Oil – I am part of the Chiang Mai University volunteer club. Twice a year, 30 of us go for one or two weeks to rural communities, mainly hill tribes, to help. For instance we build schools, donate books, give medical care. I sometimes cook, teach mathematics or give other support. We help other people and we have a nice activity with friends. I like to see other people’s life style and culture.

Laurence – any tip you can give on how to work with communities?
Oil- Body language is important. Try to work from your heart. Sometimes I draw a picture if they don’t understand what I mean. I’m proud of volunteering.

Laurence – what is your dream?
Oil - I would like to have my own accounting firm to support myself and my family. I also want to stay a member of CMU volunteers to help more people. I want to share information about CMU volunteers so that more volunteers join.
