Where do we want to be?
Why?
Community members build a 'picture' of where they want to be in order to act purposefully. The community sets a target to aim for even though it might be very distant.
What happens?
The following 3 stage process leads to a community vision.
1. The Individual Vision
People draw individually: What do you wish to see the community become?
2. The Group Vision
In small groups, every person shares his/her dream for the community. Consider the similarities and difference, and come up with a shared vision.
3. The Community Vision
Each group presents its vision and everyone listens and appreciates. The groups then merge their contributions into a shared vision for the whole community.
When a community develops a common vision for the future, they realize that they can do something to make it come true.

The virus and me, we walk on parallel ways.” The last report received from the city of Matadi informs us that in the two camps which we visited, 46 women had a voluntary HIV test. |
