Accompaniment of 'Support and Learning teams' in Mali

Based on the Constellation's approach, Groupe Pivot established throughout the country 'Equipes d'Appui et Apprentissage' (support & learning teams). With support from the Global Fund, Groupe Pivot is now scaling up the approach in the majority of communities in the region of Sikasso within the next five years. 

Constellation coaches regularly go to Mali to support the National Facilitation Team in Mali, hosted by Groupe Pivot.

In February 2010, the Constellation supported the team to introduce the AIDS Competence Process to 50 new facilitators in Sikasso. Participants were introduced to the new Apprenticeship programme or ‘Blended Learning’ available on CD-rom. Teams throughout Sikasso are going through the programme together with the accompaniment of a coach, reading the modules and practicing every step of the process in the field.

In July 2010, the Constellation and Groupe Pivot did a support visit in Sikasso in order to accompany the facilitators in the field. Read about one SALT visit in Monpiel, where the team discussed about HIV with the villagers. 

Every year, the Constellation supports a Knowledge Festival where these teams and community representatives come together and exchange. People share their experiences, draw out common principles and learn practically from local responses around the country. The resulting Knowledge assets are afterwards shared with a wider group.
