Eye on the Future: Investing in YOUTH NOW for Tomorrow’s Community (YTT)

Youth in the Caribbean has the capacity to envision, assess, act and adapt. The capacity to discuss, reflect, learn and act on their concerns is present, but often under-estimated and under-used. This capacity can be revealed and nurtured through facilitated dialogue and action. The Youth Think Tank (YTT) initiative is an appropriate mechanism to achieve this.

The Constellation has proposed a process of appreciative facilitation that is driven by local ownership and starts from the strengths that youth in the region already harnesses. The impact is a regional youth community that aligns its various strengths and works together towards their common vision.

December 2011 saw the start of this initiative and the partnership will be for a year and a half. Consequently, fourteen young people will meet face-to-face and they will use a combination of online platforms like Skype, Ning, Facebook, Twitter, TIG (takingitglobal.org) to connect, share, and learn.
