The Global Support Team demonstrates the possibility to put in place international connections while being sensitive to the environment:
We aim for paperless work and free resources available in Cloud such as Google Drive and Dropbox tools, for which the Constellation is a first adapter. If partners insist on paper copies we use recycled paper.
The Constellation has no office, there is no travel between office and home. The Global Support Team is spread over 5 countries and functions virtually. We use Skype since 2004 for our meetings. We used the beta version as soon as the tool was launched and contributed to its improvement.
We support facilitators mainly via distance support. Since 2009 we offer a blended learning course, developed in collaboration with the Helsekompetanse instute in Tromso, Norway.
Since 2004 our charter describes the possibility to organise virtually the meetings of the board and membership assembly. Given the constitution of these organs with members spread over the globe this prevents intercontinental travels.
If we need to travel we give preference to car pooling and train. We will send to our partner Green Moluccas the compensation for our carbon footprint for travel per plane and car. The amount is calculated with http://www.climatecare.org/
